Department of Trade and Industry Client: Rainprop JV Value: R 30 Million Duration: Sept 2005 – Mar 2006 Project Overview This project entailed the Construction Management of the tenant installation works for various government departments in the 4 storey (8,000m2) Block G building on the DTI campus. The tenants included SEDA, Khula, National Gambling Board, SANAS. Profica’s Role To act as the client representative and providing construction management services to take this project from inception to completion. Profica was engaged as the construction manager thus having a constant presence on site and directly managing all the trade contractors. Profica was also responsible for all aspects of the project including managing all the stakeholders, design, contract administration, construction, close-out and hand-over. Client Benefits/Value Add Construction Management offers the client far more control on the project as the various trade contractors are directly contracted and managed (also far more cost effective as there is no profit & attendance added by a main contractor) . There are also programme benefits as the works are tightly managed and programmed. |
