PROFICA (Pty) Ltd. is a professional project and construction management company which provides stand-alone project, construction and development management services across many industry sectors.  These sectors include commercial, retail, industrial, hotel & leisure, public and mixed-use projects.

Focusing on customer service and value creation, our key objective in all sectors is to provide our customers with value-added outcomes and optimum return on their investment. It is our aim to ensure innovative and flexible solutions in order to exceed all stakeholders' expectations.

PROFICA was formed through the collaboration of professional project managers, combining international experience with local knowledge and expertise.

PROFICA is a black empowered company offering a hands-on approach to the delivery of successful and sustainable property projects.

Green Building Expertise
 

The Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA) has established a panel of experts to compile a rating tool for retail developments. On the basis of PROFICA’s extensive Project Management and retail expertise, PROFICA  was approached by the GBCSA to become a member of this specialist Green Star Retail Technical Working Group.

 

Most of PROFICA’s Project Managers have completed the Green Building Council’s Green Star SA – Office V1 rating tool accreditation course.

 

PROFICA are the Project Managers for the Gugulethu Square in Cape Town and this project has been used as a sample project to help shape the Green Star rating tool to be applied to shopping centres by the Green Building Council of South Africa.

 

PROFICA’s Project Managers take Green Building, sustainability and life cycle costing issues seriously and ensure continuous learning and skills enhancement in this area.

Profica was awarded the prestigious 2010 PMR (Professional Management Review) Silver Arrow Award placing us in the top two construction project management companies in South Africa in 2010.

 

Profica was also awarded the prestigious 2009 PMR (Professional Management Review) Golden Arrow Award placing us in the top two construction project management companies in South Africa in 2009.ÂProfica was awarded the Association for Construction  Project Managers  (ACPM)  Project Management Excellence Award 2008 for the Jackal Creek Golf Estate project.

 

Profica was awarded the 2006 NHBRC / ABSA Housing Innovation Award in the Affordable Housing category.

 

 
PROFICA COMPLETES 13 SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN TIME FOR 2010!
 

13 SECONDARY SCHOOLS OPEN FOR 2010 SCHOOL YEAR: PROFICA ASSISTS THE GDE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST SCHOOL SHORTAGES IN GAUTENG.

Profica boasts the delivery of 13 secondary schools to the various communities around Gauteng Province, making a big dent on school shortages in the province. The project’s success has translated into over 12,000 learners being accommodated by the start of the 2010 school year and benefiting parents and community members as they use the facilities for other community functions.

Profica are the Principal Agents and Project Managers employed by the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) for their Accekerated Schools Delivery Initiative.   Profica succeeded against enormous site specific and technical challenges associated with geotechnical issues, discovery of graves on some sites, and community issues, to construct and deliver 13 out the 16 schools. Two of the schools will be delivered by April 2010 and the last one by December 2010.

The 16 No. 3,500 m², single-storey schools (excluding courtyards and sport facilities), boasts 28 classrooms each with laboratories, home economics, restaurants, fully landscaped courtyards with irrigation system, water pressure boosting system, rain water harvesting systems, and community vegetable gardens.

The programme does not only provide decent learning facilities but also assists local emerging contractors to up their skills to compete favourably in the industry in addition to providing short term employment to the surrounding communities.

To date the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA) has adapted the Australian office rating tool to suit the South African context by taking into account existing codes and regulations as well as local climate and environmental issues. The success of this has prompted the demand for further SA tools and specifically for the Retail Tool.

Following in their Australian counterpart’s footsteps, the The Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA) is creating a market based Environmental Retail Rating Tool for retail buildings. 

 

Development of the retail tool is a collaborative process between the GBCSA Technical Working Group (TWG), GBCSA staff and a consulting firm who provide technical support. Profica, represented by Donia Kamstra, is one of the members of the 25 strong TWG team - specifically selected industry representatives and environmental specialists, along with GBCSA directors and staff.

Profica delivers and hands over high tech building to Altech Autopage
 

Profica was the appointed Professional Project Managers for the new Head Office of Altech Autopage in Midrand.  The design and construction of the new building was the first phase of a total refurbishment project of the Altech Autopage commercial premises in the Waterfall Business Park in Midrand.

The project brief was to design and construct a dynamic, contemporary building which would reflect the vision of the developer and tenant.
